Today Dad was working in the woods again, piling up fallen tree limbs. It's about 1 1/2 miles from the house. He wanted me to bring his dinner (lunch) to the woods so that he wouldn't have to drive the bobcat back and forth.
Usually Dad is parked by the road at dinner time, sometimes asleep on the bobcat. But this time he was right in the middle of the woods, and couldn't hear me blowing the horn. I drove the old beater back to where he was, dodging stumps and trees along the way.
I brought my camera but you may not be able to understand a word we say. We're speaking a foreign language called Hoosier. To translate: I ask what is the best way out of the woods. I hand Dad his dinner in a CVS sack (not bag). I then ask him about a cane he left by the garage. Dad asks me about Mom's caretaker. Dad tells me not to run over a tree. I drive off.

I am not sure what you are talking about, the conversation seemed perfectly clear to me.

Using the cane to measure the gas in the tank...I love it! And that whold dinner/lunch/supper thing...I guess it just depends on where in this country you live.
By the way, don't run over any trees.

Seeing your Dad when the video first started with his cap and his overalls on made me think of my own Dad, who always wore overalls and a cap. I'm glad at his age that he can still get out in the woods. I thought the conversation went well. I expected you to have to yell real loud and you didn't!

This wasn't like watching an episode of '24' but still pretty entertaining.
My hearing problems made it so I couldn't tell what was being said. Thanks for the video.

Hi Jerry, I am guessing two things.
1. You got your computer fixed.
2. You can find your way out of the woods.
You dad sure has fun out there with the bobcat. I can remember when my uncle took Grandpa's tractor away, he had run it up a tree.
It was a little gray and red Ford. Lucky for all of us it didn't do a backflip, it just stayed there till Uncle Howard arrived. I'm not sure where he found Grandpa. :-)

.... excellent video, Jerry..... your Dad is obviously concerned about your Mom...... working alone in the woods like that, one can easily get lost in their thoughts......

Jerry
That video is priceless. The concern your Dad shows while asking about who is with your Mom makes it priceless.
I just hope when I am 90 I am still able to do things like your Dad.

Your dad is the coolest guy. I have question, though. (Don't I always?)
Why would one stack fallen tree limbs in the middle of the woods?

Oh, Jerry....my hat's off to your dad!
He's a "never give in or never give up" man if I ever saw one...good for him.

Reminds me of my dad, who did all the yard work til he died. Strong, brave, stubborn, and wonderful men! I used to have to get up at 5:30 am just to beat him outside to shovel the snow! Cherish him while you have him (and your mom, too!)
