Oh Jerry, that made me cry all over again. One of the saddest moments last night was of your dad and Mrs. Herr standing over the casket.

Thank you Jerry...I would write more, but the tears are flowing...I enjoyed talking to your dad and sister last night and of course seeing you.

Man, that was a beautiful story about wondeful folks. Thanks for letting us in on this wonderful guys life. the pictures and the story brings lots of things to mind. Stories from my childhood when dad would talk about growing up in Bell County, cotton farming. You really did a wonderfull job. This country is really loosing a huge resource when folks like this pass away. It's very sad. God bless him and his family.

When I saw his obituary I thought about you. It's a sad loss for the family and community. I wish I could have known him. Beautiful tribute.

Man, how I miss sitting around listening to all the old farmers talk. I got banned when I was about 5 (probably when I started repeating stuff I heard to my mom). Great story, thanks Jerry. I miss Sam and I never even met him.

Sam sounds like a terrific guy. I think you gave the best eulogy a man could ask for.

Prayers to those who need them. I have been enjoying your writing so much lately..

It is nice to hear about men like Sam...

How sad to lose such a wonderful friend. I'm sure your dad is also feeling this loss. It's great that Sam has left a wonderful legacy to be remembered and honored. I wish he'd been given more years on this earth. Our world could sure use more men like him.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your friend, and what a wonderful post you've dedicated to him. RIP Sam

I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend.

A beautiful tribute to a man I wish I could have met. I'm so sorry. My condolences to his family and friends.

I'm so sorry for you... but so so sorry for your Dad. My heart hurts for him.
