Sorry I haven't posted but it's been pretty exciting around these parts. Dad took an ambulance ride about 3am this morning. He had a heart catheterization done out-patient yesterday and was slated to have a heart stint procedure on Thursday. Somewhere during the night, Dad couldn't catch his breath and was wheezing in his chest. We called 911 and sent him to the hospital in Indianapolis where he was going to have the procedure done.
By the time he was checked into the emergency room, he was already feeling better from having oxygen administered. They have moved the stint procedure up a day and he will have that performed tomorrow. His vital signs are good. We just took a stroll around the floor. Other than being a bit bored, he's doing well.
He was getting an ultra-sound done earlier in a dark room and the technician said she was going to take some pictures. Dad chimed in, "Say. I got a little story about taking someone's picture:
I know how ugly I are.
My face ain’t no shining star.
But me, I don’t mind it.
Because I’m behind it.
The fellow in front gets the jar."
I don't think the poor girl even understood the joke. Dad didn't care; he busted up laughing anyway.
Even when Dad's laid up, he's still gotta entertain the crowd.

Damn, Jerry. Hope things are all good over there! And yeah, that is a pretty good joke... especially if it goes over someone's head.

Jerry
Sounds like your dad is doing okay - hope so. Let him know that while the nurse didn't get the joke some of us did. He sounds like a great guy.

Dear sweet jerry - if he is at St V's - he is getting the best care around. My dad ruptured his aorta in an accident - still has the teflon mesh stent from 1977 in place - and never had a problem. They do cardiac procedures so very well, I hope the cath goes off without a hitch and you are able to get some sleep. My heart goes out to you - and I will keep you all in my prayers. (smooch) Stace

I love his sense of humor, and I wish him good health. I hope the procedure goes well, and that he is back home soon. He sounds like a fun guy. I'm sure much of your sense of humor comes from him.
